~my focus~

Happy Wednesday everyone!

nothing like telling all of bloggy land that I'm going to

~ focus~

and get my bedroom finished!

nothing like a little pressure.....
self induced I know...as always...

to finish....

so, am I finished????? you asked....?????

well, are you????

well, um....

not....

quite.....

but not because I haven't been
focusing....

I have had my nose to the grindstone....everyday......
remember the whole forgetting to feed my kids & hubby during this sort of thing??
{small casualty of my "focusing".....}
I mentioned this little issue last fall when heavily immersed in slipcovers???

yep, back in that mode...
cuz, all my friends (all you fabulous girls) are waiting to see!!!!

there is simply no time for such things as meal preparing or showering and
personal grooming,  working out or grocery shopping....

when my friends are waiting to see.......:o)

so today, I am trying to start finish curtains, and
the dust ruffle.....

then I'll be 90% done.

but there is another reason it has been taking me soooooooo long.......

and it has to do with making 2 different headboards
one with 3 different types of fabric....

white linen,
white chenille,
white chenille with tufting
faded vintage floral fabric without tufting....

nope....didn't like any of them!!!!
but that's a post all of it's own
so I won't bore you with all that today!

today I just want you to see little bits & pieces of what's coming....

so here's a little glimpse....
oh, and look what I found on ebay today
and I will be waiting ever so impatiently for them to get here.....so
I can put them above our bed.....

well I'm back to the sewing machine......
then back to a the joann's in another town to get what they didn't have here certain fabric store to buy a little more fabric......
I needed a little more than the 9.5 yards of white linen they had in stock...
{thank goodness for the 50% coupon I found in my junk mail basket!!!!}

I'll be back soon to show the full reveal!!

Shellagh

go check her site out if you haven't already....
she is fabulous!!

Shellagh,
I'm going to fly you down here so you can show me how to sew all of the cool stuff you make! Oh my gosh girl, you should have your own line of linens. The Ticking & Toile line, I can see it now! I'll be your marketing person..lol. Anyway, to the question about your sconces. It looks like you have a lot of cream going on, which I love. I haven't seen the whole thing yet so I'm going on what I see. Based on that I think I'd leave the them alone. Add a punch of metal in with the wood, linen etc. Are you de-wiring them & adding candles? If so put some white candles in them, get the kind that drips and lets them burn almost all the way. So there is wax on the sconce too. That's my advice...you asked. Lisa

Hi Shellagh,
Your bed is coming along fabulously! And I am so jealous of those gorgeous chandeliers you got off e-bay. I've purchased some great things on e-bay myself and I hated to wait for them to arrive. I can't wait to see your finished room.
Have a great week!

Oh my! Your bedroom gets more and more beautiful with each layer you create. The pillows and the headboard are to die for! I'm envious every time I see your sewing machine...you make magic there, I swear!

Glad you liked the placemats...they are cute : ) I found those 100% cotton placemats at the dollar store. For the fabric transfer I used June Tailor transfer for light fabrics. They carry it at our little small town JoAnn's here and I used my 50% off coupon. I just added a little light aqua acrylic paint (my favoirte color lately, besides neutrals).

Just iron them on with a circular motion and dry iron on high....they work like a charm.

I have to go by your etsy shop tomorrow...I love your vintage finds.

Your blog has really taken off! You must be so tickled...You are one very talented lady.

in friendship,

Cori
