~urn love~

Hi there!

It seems all the inspiration that speaks to me lately
definitely has
a
spring
theme!

So....let's have a little more....

while browsing through my files on
Bountiful
I realized....I don't have enough of these....
~urns~

or enough lilacs.....boo hoo...
I bought a "little Kim" lilac bush
4 years ago & have been
sadly
disappointed....

I think I'm going to pull it out....ok transplant it...
this year...it needs a new spot
not, front & center, where
it currently resides...

I get about 6 blooms a year!!

Is this not gorgeous???
wow~ look at those hydrangea blooms!
seriously, they are so gorgeous!
can never have enough of them
I have found them to do great in containers...
even when I thought they were dead over winter...
they came back.....

and bacopa is so beautiful....
I guess it's pretty easy to start from seed!
a nursery owner told me that last year...
so we better get on that, huh?

~sigh~
where does one find an architectural detail
like this?
and how cute is this?
love it!

and you know what?
the sun is supposed to be shining for the
next 2 days!

Have a great Wednesday!

Shellagh

Aching for SP-RRRR-ING! Sooo beautiful. I had no idea starts well from seed.....that's great information. I hate paying 3.99 for each little pot of it.....gotta get some seeds.

Warm blessings,
Spencer

Hey Shellagh...it's so hard this time of year to resist planting annuals. They are fully stocked in the nurseries here, but I'm going to wait just in case we have another freeze! I enjoy your ability to grow so many different flowers in the NW, but I do love our extended growing season here! I've purchased a lot of seeds on Ebay, so I'm looking forward to seeing how they do in my garden.

By the way, I started on my slipcovers, but had a 'zipper foot' issue. I finally figured it out and hope to get this thing completed this weekend.

I have Spring Fever for sure!
Blessings,
Susie

Oh My Gosh...beautiful images, but I ADORE the pots mounted on the pieces of fence. I feel a project coming on for my courtyard.

I could kick myself....I saw that cute paint by number in your etsy shop a few days ago and told myself I'd "go back" when the kids were in school. It's gone now...I'm assuming you sold it?

Cori

:sigh: I'm dying for spring too! I LOVE urns...I wish I had some of those in the pictures and they are beautiful examples!!!! I find the faux urns from time to time at garden centers, but even being faux, they are still so expensive!
I had some trouble with a dwarf lilac too; I don't know what kind it was, it was already planted in our yard when we bought our house. I moved it to another location because it didn't do well where it was and then last year it died. :-( I love lilacs though and hope to get another one for our yard!

Gorgeous pics Shellagh! Some of them have inspired me. We just emptied our big urn in our front garden as the plants were very old and raggedy looking. But your pics have given me some fresh ideas! Thanks so much for sharing ~ Tina

These pictures are beautiful. Hydrangeas are my favorite! I've never had one in a container though..I'll have to try that. Coming to the Girls' Night Out this Friday evening at the shop?

Hi Shellagh, Ahh these are all heaven... thanks for dropping by and saying hello.. I often pop in and visit you I should comment more often, I have been a bit slack lately. Do you know that your name in Australia is also used as a slang word for female..men would say "She's a top Sheila!" funny hey, it is a term of endearment and a nice thing. So when ever I see your name I smile and think she's a good sort that Shellagh...haha, have a lovely weekend cheers Katherine

It has been beautiful here hasn't it? I'm enjoying every minute of it, because who knows what it's store for us the rest of this winter. I'm also worried about a late freeze.
What great inspiration is these pictures! Hydrangeas are definitely a favorite of mine, I'm always trying to find a spot to squeeze a new one in.

Shellagh, I love your blog, I really like how you try things even if you dont have any experience with it, like with slipcovers and making your home look more vintage by doing little projects. Gives me the courage to try and do these things in my home. Also, love your pictures. I'll be a regular to your site. Bye Audrey

As much of a great decorator as Sue Balmforth is from Bountiful she is not a very nice person, such a same with talent like hers. I know her personally and I would never hire her.

Hi Shellagh~
Man, are you making me yearn for spring! Or maybe I should type, "Urn for spring!" Wow! All those lovely hydrangeas, and I am going to look for Bacopa seeds this year. I can't wait to get my feet in the dirt.
Have a great day,
Kate
