Hello everyone!
Hope you had a wonderful weekend!
It seems I don't have much to say today.....
other than....
I. n.e.e.d. t.h.i.s.
have no idea where it came from....
just jumped out of my computer at me....
and now I need it....
how charming are those little shutters
and the chandelier???
well I'm loving this next picture too...
and nope don't know where it came from...
in a file called "inspiration"
:)
chippy wood, faded fabrics, painted floor.....
does something good for the senses....
I could never love anything shiny & new...
{unless of course you're talking new car or something crazy like that ;)}
like "new flooring" nope...can't love it...
gotta be worn out...gotta be faded...
new coffee table? nope better have dings
in it & chipping paint ~ all the better!
new lighting? nope better be an old chandy....
new shiny wood bed?
nope, same deal....
shiny new vanity?
not a chance.....
is this one not the cutest thing ever??
what about you?
do you have the same illness?
are you allergic to new furniture stores?
are you only happy in vintage shops?
do tell!

alas..i too suffer the same illness as you shellagh! And heaven help us if there is no "cure!" LOL! ;)
Love it all!!! New is boring,, the more chippy, rusty and tattered the better:)
Have a great night and thanks for sending the inspiration my way!

Oh I need those too :)
I need and WANT those items/rooms as well! Love every part of them! thanks for sharing : )))
My baby 5 arm chandelier is one my favorite things.
These are neat images, Shellagh! I love those shutters, too, and the claw foot tub right in the room. It might get a tad cold though!!
I love old, too, but sometimes things are new so you just have to mix it up.
Thanks for another inspiring post!!
XO,
Jane
OMGoodness! I'm sick too!! Nothing new for me either(unless VW convertable). The vanity is to dye for..so much inspiration!
Thanks!
Yes! This is the only illness worth gettng- it is wonderful. I LOVE all your images. Especially the first one. That one is my own! xo Diana
Sigh...I agree 100%
That first image is enchanting. I need it too. I am picky about my vintage...I don't like antique shops, but I like vintage, shabby, chippy, faded. I do like new if it is from a place like Ikea. It is very very hard for me to pay alot of money for anything but if I had alot of money I would most definetly like buying new from Restoration Hardware, Rachel Ashwell, or Pottery Barn. I've been getting rid of excess, I like bareness and I really like the simple lifestyle of European Country living. Their homes are smaller, furniture is simple and they only have what they need. I like that way of living.
Wow are those gorgeous photos! I just love them and yes I can see the need in them too!! :)

p.s. I saw the project you had posted on facebook from At the Picket Fence. I went out and got all the supplies for the project and made the several of the pumpkins this weekend. I just did a post about it on my blog and mentioned you. You'll have to come by and check out how well they turned out. I love them! :)
Oh, love the little vanity!
I agree, the older and chippier, the better.
Beautiful photos!
Shellagh you need it??
I need it all!!
I can see why you posted then so you can see how many of us need it as well.
Sometimes when our needs get met, we just don't seem to need them anymore!
I'm feeling your passion for your needs.
xoxo

The simple lifestyle of European Country is gorgeous. Their homes are smaller, furniture is simple and they only have what they need. I like that way of living.
Shellagh the first image is Lyn Gardeners Warehouse Home in Melbourne Australia. Lyn also has a fabulous store called Empire Vintage. Lyn's home is also featured in lots of catalogues in Australia too.

Yeah, what is that about? Why do I look at my newer furniture and want to make it old looking? Love that dressing table and the whole vignette!~Hugs, Patti
This is great !!! i love old furniture!!...enjoy a lovely week darling...xxx...
"inspiration" is an understatement! That is beautiful! I really like the idea of adding shutters like that to the inside of the windows. I have 2 in my garage...hmmm...I just may have to buy some hinges and give it a try! Thanks for sharing!!! ~Destiny
I want that vanity SOooooo BAD!!
Oh Shellagh
It has been a while since I have had time to visit.
Be still my heart... the photos... where do you find such treasures...I am speech-less. I love everyone... every thing featured.
Oh my, I must visit more often...
thanks for sharing.
I'd say 80% of the things in our home are not new bought! I hate new stores, give me a great estate sale, yard sale, church sale or flea market and I am happy!
Love the vanity, I am looking for something old and unique to replace our "NEW" looking one!
Thanks for the inspiration,
Hugs
Dolly
