~kitchen yummies for you~

Good afternoon bloggy friends!

The sun is actually peaking through the clouds in the Pac NW! Truly a rare treat anytime after November 1st!  I'm not sure why I feel the need to give a weather report at the beginning of my posts.....hmmmm.
 Anyway...

I've been working on some things lately....some things to share with you soon.......but not..... yet....

so until I have "the goods" to show, I thought you might enjoy a few kitchen yummies...

Here's what I'm loving about this kitchen...that fabulous clock!
and the chippy pale of flowers and that awesome light/lamp/chandy!
l o v e the simple-ness of it....

Seriously......I so love this kitchen....do you think
I'm crazy?  the beat up cabinet holding the sink?  really?
really!
the range definitely looks commercial
and the little floral picture is so cute....
and
I love the sweet simple window treatment...

rustic chippy everything.. w/ a chandelier...
nothing more to say....

how about a skirted island? I like it.
and I'm always a sucker for saltillo tile floors.
I know "sucker" is not a very nice word, but it just seemed to fit....sorry mom.

how about a skirted everything?? I am liking it too.
the brick walls are amazing
and
the wood countertops are gorgeous
and
the exposed beam ceiling?
love it all.....

need this in my kitchen....

more brick love
and
um, floor love.

My favorite....
straight from the french countryside...
stone floors, plaster walls
and
hanging herbs and such.....it's killing me....
anyone have some lavender I can dry out?
my insane blackeyed susan's my other perennials
choked out my lavender this last summer......

OK...I lied...this is my new favorite....
it's the light blue cabinet at the end...I need it.
and
the range w/ that fabulous  little work table next to it.
need that too.

I know it's not a kitchen,
but in the same file & too wonderful not to share...
you know how I love my pea gravel...

~ ~ * ~ ~

that's it for today friends...gotta go check on my lovey...

my sweet Kenzie-girl is down with a fever & soar throat...

this is her this last spring
helping her mom plant 100 boxwoods....
every 12 inches on center...:-} oh the memories of the projects we do....smiles.

Till next time

and I hope you & your families stay well.

Shellagh

{first 3 photos: country living, the rest from ?? oops, not noted on my file.....}

Love the pics of the white kitchens...you are so absolutely right about that clock...crazy cool! I also like the chandelier in that pic. I have been looking for something for my dining room...I think I could maybe re-create this one. Unfortunately, the pic doesn't enlarge..I would love to see a closer shot of it. Can't wait to see what you've been up to! I've only been working, working, working ~ no fun at all!
Have a great week,
Susie

These are the BEST pictures!! We so share the same tastes. My husband would never put up with skirted anything (except me, preferably short). I think I might have to give some of the kitchens a nice swipe of white paint here and there, but otherwise i love them all...

And I too, report on the weather. That is what happens when we live up north and everyday is strangely different from the one before! LOL!

Come by, Shellagh, I have a giveaway going!

xoxo

Each picture holds such charm! But, if I ever build a house I would simply love red brick walls in the kitchen. I don't know what it is, I just love brick walls {in the kitchen-grin}.
Wow! 100 boxwoods! OY! That is a lot! :o)

Love all those photos. I also love the light in the first photo. It is Heather Chadduck's light in her kitchen. I did a little recreation of it for my craft room. It was quite easy to do- take a look:

Hi Shellagh, I love them all, but I love the second one the best because it is the lovely Robin's kitchen from Magnolia Pearl. I love her house and would move in if they would let me. I can definitely do chippy!

Thanks for dropping by! The tablecloths etc... are for sale on Ebay. I am going back to near full -time work next year so wont have the time to be the hunter/gatherer I was. Need to scale back and clear the shelves! But you can't keep a good thrifter down, I just have to be more selective in future (Ha yeah thats really going to happen.....).

Shellagh,
These are all great looks! Sleek modern kitchens are nice, but I’ drawn to time worn vintage style, with updated appliances and great finishes.
Wishing you sunny days…from someone who used to live in the Pacific NW.

I had to come back and read all your post! Years ago, I did the paper bag wallpaper, the flooring was done in my living room 20 years ago and we just did the rest of the house with 1x8 pine boards, not flooring. I love it too. You are going to love my guest room that I have not showed yet. I can't believe how many of the same picture we have saved. Nice to find a soul mate...

Those are some great kitchens. I just can't wait to paint my cabinets white. They are blah maple right now and totally not me. Lots of inspiration here... I look forward to seeing what you're up to.

Lovely, well-lit rooms here. Makes me so cheery! You probably know this, but that last photo that you said wasn't a kitchen but you loved it anyway? That's a photo of author and cooking journalist Susan Loomis' home in France pictured on the cover of her book, "On Rue Tatin." It's a fascinating read: it contains recipes (!), lots of small town French living anecdotes, and such a warm love of renovating.
