~I need a farm~

Hello Everyone!!

Happy almost Friday!! :)

have I mentioned lately.....
I need a farm.

I really do.

oh and I need a white farmhouse
to go with the farm....

and a lovely vegetable garden ~ even
a potager garden....to browse about
in and gather greens for dinner.....

a lovely old barn in the distance would
also do nicely.....no?

apparently I am in the wrong
part of the country for such things....

perhaps I need to be in Ohio, with
Mary from Urban Farmgirl??

isn't this a lovely picture she took
on her way to the Country Living Fair....
ok ~ so unfair.....heehee ;)
(I don't want to whine here but I reeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaly wanna go to the Country Living Fair.....!!! )

I'm thinking a nice farmhouse window ~ with
a simple white lace curtain~ with a view like
this...... would suffice.....

actually, it'd be a dream come true.....
don'tcha think?

so I came across these pics on the Country Living
website....and thought you would enjoy them
right along with me!

it's a darling farmhouse built in 1830
in Milan New York....

hmmmm.....maybe we need to move to Milan??

apparently the kitchen, with the
d.a.r.l.i.n.g. sink sold them on the house....
oh ~ and those beams on the ceiling...
that woulda sold me!!
"fo sho" as my 15 year old daughter
would say.....well she would say,"fo sho, dawg"
actually, and then followed up with
a "true dat"
(I'm sure she'll outgrow this....let's hope so, but for now I gotta admit,
she sounds so darn cute when she says it, because she is so
un-gangsta like!! :)  )

anyway~ I digress....
back to this amazing farmhouse....

check out the beams....I'm officially
obsessed with them.

and one more for your viewing pleasure...

quite the cute cabinet huh??
all stacked with yummy plates & such....

ooooooh, forgot about this picture
with more yummy beams to drool over....
wood beams, white walls.....

~big sigh~

well let's move on to the bathroom....
and imagine how wonderful slipping into
this clawfoot tub would be.....

I'm really loving the industrial elements
mixed with the vintage tub....
cute cute.....

there's those white floors we all love....
gleamy & all polished up.....
yumyumyum.

so what are your plans for the weekend??
is it spring in your part of the country?

don't tell me if it is because we are still
sopping wet with rain.....6 inches expected in the
next 3 days....UGH!!!!

I'd love to hear!!
:)
no, seriously...
I can handle it...

just not too much gloating please...
;)

xoxo,

Shellagh

exception of the Ohio barn which is from

LOVE your inspiration pics.

LOVE love love them, truly and I am with ya on thinking a farm would be oh-so-fantastic.

Guess what? I am from Ohio, too and live in the city the CLF is held!

You always have crash space here if interested in attending - it is one of the greatest things EVER, hands down.

Loved this post, so funny.

Oh, and um, yes they DO outgrow that, I had two finally grow up and out of it not long ago myself. Haha, I actually laughed out loud with that one, hilarious.

Have a good weekend when it finally sneaks in to bring you joy!

Shellagh-I think we all have dreams at one time or another of living the farmhouse life. It seems so idealistic, doesn't it?

Well it may be raining there but it is spitting snow here! Blessings and I hope you have a wonderful weekend-xo Diana

Haha! Girl, I slammed on the brakes and crossed 2 lanes of traffic to pull over in time to get a photo of that barn! I am sooo happy to see you showing it some love. ;o)

As for me, I will take the sink in photo #1. My sister was going through a divorce after many years of living on a perfect little farm in rural Illinois. I begged her, take EVERYTHING including the kitchen sink...and I WAS NOT JOKING! Lol!

Do I dare tell you it was in perfect shape, and when the new girl moved in she renovated the kitchen and threw the sink in the DUMPSTER. Ugh. I was more sad to see it go, then him. Hahaha!

Hi Shell
Such a great house!!! I had a farm once upon a life ago... no thank you, I am a town girl. I like people! I do not want to drive 15 miles before I see some someone with two legs. It was nice raising the kiddies but now I like where I am at! But dream on girl... :)
Hope all is well in your world
Blessings

That sink would sell me on the house, too! I love farm sinks. I want a farm sink. Sigh. Farms are kind of yucky when you live on them, though. ~ Maureen

Beautiful sink, and the beams where amazing. Iam just in from checking cows, sun was not up and it was quite foggy, hoping it burns off and the sun comes out.I love being on the farm and this is our busy time, since the second week of March we have had 81 calves. Thank you for your beautiful blog and hope you get some great weather. Take care!

Loved living in the country...even though I am smack in the middle of city in France now :) Couldn't be much different.
Dreaming and planning of in what and where you will live is part of the fun!
Have a great weekend!

I'd like to live on a farm too, as long as I didn't have to do any of the work, and there was still a Target nearby!
