~feeling a little shabby~

Hello friends!

I've been doing a little browsing through the ol'
idea files & started feeling a little shabby~

sometimes this style just hits home with me.....

you know what I mean?

so easy & carefree....
no need to worry about dings & dents...

I love this table & it's very little paint left,
and the the floors....I almost had the nerve to paint our floors white....
.....almost.....

anything with a white slipcover on it is divine....
especially if it's close to something all chippy....

Rachel Ashwell has really become an interior design icon...
but can you believe....
I was out shopping with my sweet friend,
and commented about Rachel Ashwell....
and she said, "Who's that?"
~gasp~
I was like "whaaaaaat?"

{doesn't everyone live in the decorating/blogging world?!?, no?? ;-) }

my goodness does this sofa just make you swoon?
I could do without the blue pillows,
but the sofa......wow.....

ahhhh, could curl right up in this & love every minute....

I am definitely going to grow as many white flowers this year
as I can find.....
need to fill up lots of vases this summer.....

well maybe a little pink mixed in.....you can almost smell this huh?

Oh, and here's the latest weather update....

*r a i n*

boy were those sunny days a dream....
but now we are back to reality....

Ok...off to organize my etsy shop stuff

oh, if you could only see my messiness....
but, we got some new shelves (yes craigslist $20)
so I can get my messies together!

I love that shabby look too, though I can never seem to pull it off as well as others. Hubby thinks it's too girly. *snicker*

I wish I could pull this look off - I always get torn between the shabby or the more formal country look. I made the same note to myself after looking at all my files - to plant as many white flowers as possible this year!

Oh, the shabby chic room is something I dream of. I only have one room in my home that I am working on being nothing but that, so these photos are inspirational.

Lovely post.

my numero uno problem ... I like it all and have for 35 years ... before anyone even wrote a book ... chippy, ironstone ... paint half on and half off ... so to me it's old hat ...hehe ... just playing with ya .

you truly inspire me.

I definitely love it, especially the chippy paint part. It's taken my husband a while to "get there". Having a place to feel comfortable and not having to worry really speaks to me.

Oh yes, that sofa just makes me swoon. In my house nothing would stay this white. I too, am working on my own shabby chic create/office room of my own. I will not have that gorgeous fireplace though :(
I just love thinking of roses and peonies, right now. It makes me forget about all the snow outside :)
Have a blessed weekend

Oh I LOVE all these images, especially the two mirrors and the flowers on the mantle. That is similar to what I'd like to do with mine. Little bit of sun peeking off as I got the kids off to school this morning. Hope you get some on the west side.
Happy Valentine's weekend to you and your family.

Hi Shellagh, all so lovely.. I know what you mean about the Rachel Ashwell thing I sometimes have customers ask "What is shabby chic?" and I think where have you been...but I forget that not everybody is into decorating and vintage and all that...thank goodness we can share what we love...cheers Katherine

Oh my gosh, I'm drooling!!!! I LOVE this look too, but just like some of the other gals, I can't seem to pull it off all the way. I'don't know if there isn't enough old chippy stuff to be had here, or I'm just now doing it right when I try to duplicate it. I'll just keep plugging away though!! I'm bound to get it right eventually !!

Love, love all the white and shabbiness. Unfortunately, hubby is not so fond of either. Thanks for sharing your files. I have a couple of Rachel Ashwell book, I'll have to find and browse again.
I agree about the fresh flowers. I'm wanting to get out and clean up the yard and plant so our yard will be blooming for Easter.

Thanks for the great inspiration...I need to head back into my own inspiration files...I've been too busy switching rooms around and what not to do much else, but I could use all the inspiration I can get right now...I've got to decide which project to tackle next!
