Hello friends!
I've been doing a little browsing through the ol'
idea files & started feeling a little shabby~
sometimes this style just hits home with me.....
you know what I mean?
so easy & carefree....
no need to worry about dings & dents...
I love this table & it's very little paint left,
and the the floors....I almost had the nerve to paint our floors white....
.....almost.....
anything with a white slipcover on it is divine....
especially if it's close to something all chippy....
Rachel Ashwell has really become an interior design icon...
but can you believe....
I was out shopping with my sweet friend,
and commented about Rachel Ashwell....
and she said, "Who's that?"
~gasp~
I was like "whaaaaaat?"
{doesn't everyone live in the decorating/blogging world?!?, no?? ;-) }
my goodness does this sofa just make you swoon?
I could do without the blue pillows,
but the sofa......wow.....
ahhhh, could curl right up in this & love every minute....
I am definitely going to grow as many white flowers this year
as I can find.....
need to fill up lots of vases this summer.....
well maybe a little pink mixed in.....you can almost smell this huh?
Oh, and here's the latest weather update....
*r a i n*
boy were those sunny days a dream....
but now we are back to reality....
oh, if you could only see my messiness....
but, we got some new shelves (yes craigslist $20)
so I can get my messies together!

I love that shabby look too, though I can never seem to pull it off as well as others. Hubby thinks it's too girly. *snicker*
I wish I could pull this look off - I always get torn between the shabby or the more formal country look. I made the same note to myself after looking at all my files - to plant as many white flowers as possible this year!

sigh.......i want to BE rachel ashwell. L.O.V.E. her style. LOVE IT!
fun post!
Oh, the shabby chic room is something I dream of. I only have one room in my home that I am working on being nothing but that, so these photos are inspirational.
Lovely post.

Love the shabby chic look myself Shellagh. Gorgeous pics and that pink rose is divine! Thanks for sharing:) Enjoy sorting! ~ Tina
my numero uno problem ... I like it all and have for 35 years ... before anyone even wrote a book ... chippy, ironstone ... paint half on and half off ... so to me it's old hat ...hehe ... just playing with ya .
you truly inspire me.
me again ..could you resend me that sweet email you sent!!!
somehow it disappeared .....please!!!
I love Shabby Chic! I'm doing over a craft room in my house and that's what I'm going for. I love white flowers too. Peonies and roses, can't wait for spring!
I love all this inspiration!! I think I have some of the same ones in my file!!
Blessings~
I love it alllll! Its my favorite style ever! ~lulu
The rooms are so inspiring, I too love this look and am working on doing my guest room in it then as soon as my husband loves it and he will I will attack the living room with a vengence.
Beautiful Kitchen love it!
That sofa DOES make me swoon!
Yes indeed!

I definitely love it, especially the chippy paint part. It's taken my husband a while to "get there". Having a place to feel comfortable and not having to worry really speaks to me.

So, so pretty!
Thanks for sharing on this rainy, and possibly snowy day. I love Rachel Ashwell :)
Oh yes, that sofa just makes me swoon. In my house nothing would stay this white. I too, am working on my own shabby chic create/office room of my own. I will not have that gorgeous fireplace though :(
I just love thinking of roses and peonies, right now. It makes me forget about all the snow outside :)
Have a blessed weekend
I always love where your blog takes me! You really know just what I like (crave?) in kitchens!!! Are you sneaking away to Warrenton over spring break? Aaughh how I want to go!
Oh I LOVE all these images, especially the two mirrors and the flowers on the mantle. That is similar to what I'd like to do with mine. Little bit of sun peeking off as I got the kids off to school this morning. Hope you get some on the west side.
Happy Valentine's weekend to you and your family.

It makes a Girl all Swoony! I just ordered the new R. Ashwell book and I am sooo excited to get it.The sunshine will be back, it should be a great weekend.Woo~hoo! Enjoy~Kim
Boy Shellagh every image here is jaw dropping. I love Rachel Ashwell and her shabby chic style. No one has influenced me more, she and Carol Bolton...I know, two very different styles, but I do them them both so much.

Oh Shellagh, I love each and every picture!!!!! I think each of them are timeless....no matter what year it is the items in these photographs are classics to me ~ hugs and love, Dawn
Hi Shellagh, all so lovely.. I know what you mean about the Rachel Ashwell thing I sometimes have customers ask "What is shabby chic?" and I think where have you been...but I forget that not everybody is into decorating and vintage and all that...thank goodness we can share what we love...cheers Katherine
Oh my gosh, I'm drooling!!!! I LOVE this look too, but just like some of the other gals, I can't seem to pull it off all the way. I'don't know if there isn't enough old chippy stuff to be had here, or I'm just now doing it right when I try to duplicate it. I'll just keep plugging away though!! I'm bound to get it right eventually !!

The shabbier the better. I think sometime I could love in a barn and be happy!
Happy Valentines Day~

The first photo and the white bedding really speak to me...I love the weathered wood bench...I have a thing for benches...and baskets...and white sheets...and...well you get the picture :o)
Love, love all the white and shabbiness. Unfortunately, hubby is not so fond of either. Thanks for sharing your files. I have a couple of Rachel Ashwell book, I'll have to find and browse again.
I agree about the fresh flowers. I'm wanting to get out and clean up the yard and plant so our yard will be blooming for Easter.
Wow you really have an inspiring blog !
Welcome back to mine.
Love and light. Betty
We have such similar tastes Shellagh! There is not a picture in this post that I don't LOVE!!! All of it! Thanks for the great inspiration...I need to head back into my own inspiration files...I've been too busy switching rooms around and what not to do much else, but I could use all the inspiration I can get right now...I've got to decide which project to tackle next!
