~what's blooming II ~

hello there everyone!

NW weather.....80 and perfect....
don't hate me....
just remember it rained for 9 months
before this fabulous-ness ;)

I thought I'd show you a little
of what's blooming around the garden....

I found this little white basket
at a little shop nearby
& thought it would be fun by the
front door filled w/ yummies
from the garden....

{I do realize this basket could use a bow....yep....it could...}

so I gathered a little this & that

a few purple coneflowers....

a few coreopsis...dainty little things

and my beloved white phlox.....smells so amazing!

normally I would just go with
a big bouquet of ........gee let me think...
well....um....white flowers......hard to imagine eh?

but I was feeling like, you got all this color....
use it!

so I added a few Liatrus...which is just starting
to bloom....crazy hair day flowers ~ they are!

so what else is blooming?
well a bunch .... tons....of daisies...

white shastas....
......yellow shastas....(?)

not sure the name, but they are pale yellow
these even survived a mid-day transplant
last week! emergency uprooting....needed to install trellis....

{can you believe I haven't 'fessed up that
new project.....to all y'all?}

yeah, I was gonna show you that today, but
realized it needs just a wee bit more paint...
so next week!

more daisies in the potager
next to the chives....love those purple blooms!

my clematis is going crazy!

it's definitely serving it's purpose well....
hiding the big blue pool monstrosity....

{the kids have no grass......um,
 {remember I yanked it all out a couple years ago?? }
......in the back garden so
it was the least I could do...let them have a pool!! ;) }

the creeping thyme lines a path next to the potager
it smells so amazing & just keeps spreading....

I love this little aqua chair....
I paid $4 for it at a yard sale....

I love the chippy paint & it's weathered look....

I have so much more to show you,
but I'll save the rest for next week!

right now, I need to get back to work
sewing!!

thanks so much for all your enthusiasm
& excitement for my new shop!

Click Here to check it out!

I can't believe how much your energy
spurs my creativity!!

I'll be adding more products just as soon
as my little hands can create each sample!

Talk soon!

xoxoxo,

Shellagh

Beautiful! I can almost smell it from here. I am a new follower and love your blog. I had to laugh reading that you ripped all your grass out...it sure cuts down on mowing time~ kids can play anyplace, can't they? I am going to explore your blog more in depth this weekend. Work is calling-lol Diana

Phlox! for some really dumb reason, I never thought about growing these and i love their scent, too.
The new house (two weeks+ and counting) will most certainly have to have them next summer. Thanks for the inspiration!

I love your flowers and garden shots!

Summers are great here in the Pacific NW... They really make up for the months of soggy, overcast weather we deal with.

How is your grass fairing? With the really wet spring and then it suddenly getting hot, my lawn developed a lawn fungus... boo hiss, boo.

So lovely! Someday I hope to live in the area...enjoy your beautiful garden and weather. I was sad to throw out a couple of plants that was burned from the heat and sun today, but seeing your photos made me smile. Thanks for sharing. I can't wait to see what you are sewing!

I also live in the NW and have similar flowers blooming in our 80 or so degree weather. Lovely pictures and a very lovely bouquet by your front door. I also took a look at your linens, they are sooo lovely too.

Oh my Shellagh!! I am so jealous. Your garden is so beautiful. Such a beautiful variety of blooms and great for bouquets. It's so hot here, everything is looking sad.
I'm jealous (in a happy way) too of your new store. All of your things are beautiful and so well done. I have been trying to get an Etsy store opened for months. I wish you all the best. Looks like you are going to be kept busy.

Giveaway this week over at my blog.

The clematis...the daisies...the beautiful arrangements! I love it all!

I'm so happy your weather is just so perfect--I know you don't one minute of it for granted. It's a little warmer here on the east side of WA, but the evenings are spectacular and the starry nights make the hot days all worthwhile.

I am so excited about your new linen shop! I just had a vintage sofa recovered for my master and really need some new pillows. I'll be shopping and ordering soon! Everything looks so gorgeous.

I'm so proud of you : )

I love that little chippy, beautifully colored chair, it's perfect! White phlox oh so pretty, your photo is beautiful. It sounds as though you love the creeping thyme. We have been searching for something for a little area in our front yard where something just grows and grows even though it gets stepped on a bit, maybe that's the plant/herb to go with? How great about your store!

Hi there, Shellagh! I have a lot of catching up to do here at your blog, but I had to comment on your flowers. Gorgeous . . . just gorgeous!!! Your flowers are just amazing. It's been too hot and humid here for me to get out and garden, so I'll just gaze at your fabulous flower snaps and wish for just slightly cooler temps here.

Thanks for sharing!
Have a great weekend :o)

Oh P.S. - how's the running going????

Hello Shellagh! I have just returned from your part of the country. Two weeks in my lovely Lakeside Montana. It started out pretty cool for this Floridian but you are right the last week was amazing! I will be doing lots of blogging as soon as I can find the cord to my camera.
Your flowers are beautiful. We just can't grow them like that here. I have so much catching up to do no computer or TV up there.
Can't wait to see your past blogs I missed and the new project ahead. I'm sorry I'm so chatty.
Have a great week!
