~creamy goodness~

Good morning bloggy friends!

well, it's Monday & the list is long....
so how about a little creamy goodness
before diving into work!

Today I'm tempting you all with
designer Lauren Ross's home

are those stone walls just amazing?
I love how the ruffly slipcovers drape on
the sisal rug.....

aren't her slipcovered dining chairs
2die4???
I love the soft ruffles & the ties in back
AND that MIRROR!! wow~
need one of those......

This picture was my inspiration
for my bedroom makeover.
I love her headboard w/ the monogram
I'm still wanting to do a monogram on ours...

I know lots of you have seen this picture...
what a sweet bathroom....
even a little ruffle on the tiny lampshade!

ruffles & urns....yum.

her daughter's bedroom.....
it's a nice pink huh?
more drapey slipcover yumminess
& ruffly pillow goodness...

I wonder how long these would look nice
in my home????
{I'm thinking approximately 24 hours....}

I love the shape of these chairs....the monogram
the strappy legs...

yeah, love this one too, but
look at that brick floor!!

here's another little closeup
of one of her slipcovers....

this chair was her grandmother's &
she left it "as is"
except adding the little rosettes around
the buttons on the tufting....

love her style~

~*~

ok...now on to real life.....
my life....

I'm happy to report our stairs are coming along!
I'm still waiting on the contractors bid &
meanwhile Mr. T & T started working on
them this weekend!!
I swear there is nothing that makes me happier
than hubs doing house projects!! yippee!

I'll take that over roses anyday!
{in a vase...that is...now if we're talking
about one to plant well....that's a tough choice...:)}

I went "running" 5 times last week!!
can you believe that??

I say "running" because it's really a little jogging,
and a alot of  little walking....

all I can say is.... it hurts like#*@!!  it feels great!
ha ha :)

I do appreciate all of your nice comments &
encouragement!  I was telling my running partner
about all your encouragement & she wants
me to forward those comments to her so she can
believe it's possible to become a runner at our age!

I haven't really been sore from it, just right after
we are done....legs hurt, feet & ankles hurt....
but at least it hasn't been lasting long!

~*~

ok back to decorating...

I have to admit my decorator/remodeling ADD
is kicked into full swing & my head is spinning...
{I won't go into the list or your heads will
be spinning as well!}

seriously.....I drive myself crazy with jumping
from this to that all day!
please tell me some of you do this as well!

~ f  o  c  u  s ~

~hummmmmm....~
{imagine soft meditational music here!}

now, on that note I need to get in gear....

make bed
start laundry
start dishwasher
take shower
replace 14 yr olds cell phone...
go to post office
pick up kids
go for run
make dinner

sound familiar?

have a great day!

xo,

Shellagh

You know what is causing the decorating ADD don't you? A finished project and all of that running...nothing like those endorphins to make you feel like you can *conquer* the world!
I'm doing my bedroom reveal for WW...come on by:)

  10. What a great post. I enjoyed the switch from all the "creamy goodness" photos to your list from your real life, which sounded a lot like mine. Your blog is so beautiful and I like the way you center you content. It is very inviting.

  11. Hi Shellagh,
I love her home! I still have this issue and look to it every time I need inspiration! I absolutely loved your bedroom you redecorated, you did an amazing job. And I know what you mean about prefering projects done by your hubby to roses! I'm the same way.
    Have a great day!

  23. Shellagh,
Sorry I just deleted my last post. Man I wish we had spell check on this. I never catch it until I hit publish. I think this is my all time favorite spread in Country Living. I kept several of the pics for my wish book. Thanks for sharing it. I'm finishing my first of three bedrooms in a couple of days. I just love the gray and white walls. Thank you so much for inspiring me.
    Blessings,

  27. Shellagh I have always loved Lauren's decorating and have been so inspired by her gift of creating beauty.
I think you are my new hero. I would love to be able to jog more than just down the lane and back, instead of walking a mile. I just can't seem to jog. My daughter is always running half marathons and I would love to be in one, but I think I would DIE! lol. You go girl!!!

  28. Hi Shellagh! YES. Your day sounds VERY familiar! Something tells me, though, that we will look back at these days as being the absolutely BEST ones of our lives. Okay, the decorating pics. I will take the RED DRESSER and the CHAIR with the MONOGRAM!!! As for the running, KEEP GOING! You can and WILL do it.... xx P&H

  29. I'd say creamy goodness! It's funny how I have cut out and saved almost every single one of these photos for my "inpiration folders". I started this when we were going to build our home, but still do it because my style is forever changing.

Thanks for the eye candy and I'm looking forward to Wednesday. Hopefully the sun will shine for us.

  30. Shellagh these pics are DIVINE....!!!

YES...Isn't it fun to have hubby working on 'projects'....ALWAYS makes ME smile.... :o) !!

Keep up the running....Soon your jog/walk will become a full run & you WILL be amazed at the changes in your body....!!

I've been running for a year now having started at the TENDER age of 44 & while I'm by no means a 'lean mean running machine', I am FIT & ready to bounce from one project to the next in a heartbeat....hahahaha...YES....Just HOW to focus on ONE thing at a time.... :o) !!

    Have a GREAT week....!

    Cheers,
    Tamarah :o)

  32. Thanks for sharing all these pretty images, I fell completely "ruffled". Can not get enough of it, but living with 3 male members of the family, compromise is needed!

    Love your blog..

  33. Are there people who can focus???? I didn't know they existed....lol. The pics are wonderful. All those ruffles make things look amazing! I love all the pics. Way to go running. Keep it up!

  34. I saw that mirror in Country Living years ago and tore the page from the magazine for future reference - I love it and still do... and those furniture covers are just gorgeous...

    Yummy.

I am so proud of you and your running partner - five times is very ambitious of you both. Are there any 5Ks in your future?

Enjoy the week and thank you for the eye candy...beautiful. Hugs - Julie

  35. Man girl, you now have me eyeing my entire house looking for things that I can ruffle. And I so need that bed skirt. (And I have to get working on our headboard...)

I was so giggling about the- nothing makes me happier than hubby working around the house and the roses comment. I was thinking the exact same thing about the vase vs bush, so I was laughing hysterically when I read on to see you thought the same thing. Now my kids think I am a crazy lady when they caught me laughing out loud in front of my computer, actually they have been thinking that for years...

Have a great day, good luck with your stairs, can't wait to see them all done!

  37. Mmmm, Shellagh . . . more like "creamy yumminess"!!!
Yeah, I wonder how long all that wonderful white would remain in my house as well. Thanks so much for sharing that gorgeous inspiration.

Sounds like you're doing great with your new workout routine - keep it up! And yes, like I commented before, it is absolutely possible to become runners at our age. If I can do it, anyone can!

Sounds like you might suffer from the same affliction as me - adult ADD LOL!!! :o)

  38. oh crikey I find it hard to stay focused too. Especially hard because I work from home. Think I will have to start writing some lists to stay on track. Love the photos, I just realised I have an urn exactly the same as the one pictured with the white hydrangeas in it. Will have to pull it back out of my ebay store!!!!

  42. Shellagh, I have to tell you that you were reading my mind with this post! I'm going to "attempt" a slipcover with ties for a bergere chair that I have. I remembered this article in CL because all the slipcovers were amazing. You and others that have recently done room makeovers and slipcovers have been a real inspiration! I'm not a seemstress, but I do sew a little, so wish me luck on this. It will be a monumental accomplishment if I can get it done!!

  44. Oh Shellagh, I'm loving your creamy goodness pictures. I'm even gettin the urge to slipcover everything in sight. Cream or white is my favorite look, but with 10 grandkids, it wouldn't last long in my house either.
Loved the little burlap covered footstool. I have a little one out in my shed that may become a slipcover project.
    Thanks for sharing the inspiration.

  50. Shellagh,
Oh yes, YUMM-E! All of it. I have wanted to learn to make slipcovers forever. I have a picture of a chair Carrie Raphael did in Country Home ages ago hanging on my inspiration board. I love that chair in the bottom of the post, with the burlap ottoman. LOVE IT! And the ruffled lampshade. I looked all over Round Top last year for one, can't find them anywhere. If you have a source, let me in on it - okay? Girl, I thought I had energy. You make me look like a couch potato! Lisa
