~country bath inspiration~

Happy Sunday everyone!

it's so exciting to see the S U N in the great NW!

but before I go out & enjoy it.....

I thought I would share this AMAZING picture I found......

Seriously.....I love this so much I can't stand it!!!!!

I love so much about this bathroom....
the walls, the tall basket of flowers, the tattered lace in the window,
the tin ceiling, and of course the tub.

so romantic & sweet~

I have been wanting to do this in our bathrooms for quite awhile now....

in fact, one day in the near future....you might just find a post
of mine.....'fessing up to another wild adventure.....
such as ripping out our lovely oak cabinets....and shower stall

to replace with something like this...

the bathroom adventure will likely begin with the acquisition of
a tub such as this....
preferably from craigslist....
preferably for less than $200.

If that day appears sooner rather than later...
my poor hubby will know he's in for it.

and I will also need to find a fabulous old dresser
to drop a couple sinks into....

and ideally.....(no..not ideally...I meant I will definitely have to...)
rip out the nasty linoleum that is white w/
light blue swirlies....circa 1991...gotta love it.

probably better save some of the fir flooring for the bathrooms.....

would love to find an awesome faucet or 2 like this....
and an awesome mirror to replace our builder's standby mirror.

and I know I have several little bottles to put cute
little rose blooms into...to pretty up the place....

and then maybe add a few other lovelies.....

~oh to dream~

~*~

it's too bad tubs are so heavy huh???
and it's really too bad there's so much plumbing involved....

Have a wonderful Sunday evening

&

a great start to the week!

Happy Sunday evening! Just playing around and saw these gorgeous pictures - I adore every one of them. I dream constantly of a gorgeous bathroom full of old and found luxury. I love the first picture - it's from A Bit of Velvet and a Dash of Lace by Robin Brown. It's a book about the decorating in her house - you have to get it! Her whole house is like that. Thanks for all the pretty pictures ~

Great bathroom...Wouldn't it be lovely to close your eyes and soak in such a bath even if only for a short while...

Lovely baths, Shellagh. We have such similar taste and I think we are both sort of stuck with what we have!! ;-)

A girl can dream, can't she? These are all lovely photos and I even have some of them in my "Dream" folder from when we built our house.

Also, did you get my email?

Take care,

Such amazing creativity!! These photos are great, and I find myself daydreaming about having a bathroom like one of those. Maybe someday, but for now the pictures are fun to look at. Thanks for sharing!!

I loved looking through your bath pictures. We still have to do our Master Bath. I have an old tub like that in my yard. Just convincing my sweet hubby how cute it would be is another thing. I also like the dresser idea for the sink. I know he wouldn't go for the more rustic one, but the others.....maybe. I hope you get to do yours so I can show him the possibilities.

And when you get your bathroom that looks like those pictures, you let me know, so I can come and take a bath in them. Maybe after we do the weeding...

Hope your week is off to a great start.

And, BTW, when we built our house, I insisted on having a clawfoot tub. My builders pitched an absolute fit. We all stood out ground, and I finally won. I actually purchased a reproduction tub out of fiberglass, same look, and we didn't have to re-glaze an old tub. Meanwhile, my builders charged me a fortune to add more support beams to my new bathroom floor. Imagine their surprise when I carried my new tub in the house with one arm. It is so light, and I do love it even though it is out of fiberglass instead of cast-iron. (or whatever they are made of...)
