~not ready for fall~

Happy Monday!

We have had some beautiful
days here in the NW.....

we suffer through months and
months of rain to finally get
our gorgeous summers....

I am n.e.v.e.r. ready for and/or anxious
for fall....n.e.v.e.r. one time.....

but I can feel it creepin' in...
the morning air is just starting to change...

My mom passed away in the fall ~
{it's been almost 13 years now....}
Just as fall was in full swing...
so the smell of the air & the general "feel" of Autumn
brings back all those memories....

so I'm still thinkin' of summer here!
not ready for pumpkins....
not ready for apple cider...

still soaking up the sun...
and cherishing everyday with my kiddos
home!

what are your thoughts on the changing
of the season?

are you chomping at the bit for
cooler days?
ready to snuggle up indoors w/ a fire?

or are you fighting it every step of the way??

ahhhh doesn't this picture just wanna
make you go for a swim in a lake
somewhere???

looks divine.....

Hope your day is amazing!

xoxo,

Shellagh

  3. I'm so happy you are having some summer! I felt like we had weeks left and then when I was in Target the other day, I saw kids buying school supplies and I was caught off guard! That spells FALL! But I am enjoying every last second! :)

    Love these pictures! :)

  4. Fall is my very favorite season so I am always anticipating those crisp nights and cool days. We are getting just a taste of it next week here on the East Coast and I can't wait!

  5. I absolutely love summer here in Minneapolis. We look forward to the warm, sunny days of summer all year long. But our autumns are lovely too. The fall is always a somewhat melancholy time for me. I guess it is because we see a fading of our natural world, and we know the chills of winter are around the corner. Lovely photos!

  8. Shellagh, I'll send you some our TX sunshine if you'll send some of the rain back this way. LOL
Honestly I'm ready for some cooler temps, so fall weather would be a welcome sight. Unfortunately we most likely will have warm weather through September and into October.
Enjoy your summer days. Gorgeous images!

  9. Thank heavens there's someone else who also must be dragged, kicking and screaming, away from summer and into fall. I'll enjoy the cool weather when it arrives, until then I'm going to love every second of summertime!

  11. I am anticipating the Fall. Autumn, the changes, the snuggle weather. The home takes on a cozier look, and warm feeling!! the smells of apples, spices and pumpkins everywhere... Luv the colours of it all. The smells, the flavours..

But, I cam empathize with your loss, and the feeling of it coming all over again with the smells feel of the season. I lost my Daddy in March. My fave seasons were Spring and Fall. Well, now Spring brings memories, tears and loss.... It also, in my home nrings b'days as we.., but the weight of the loss is still there...
((HUGS)) Here's hoping for many more days of sunshine for you!!
    Cheers, Gee

  13. Hard to resist that hammock photo. As beautiful as summer can be, with all the very hot days we've had in my neck of the woods, I could use a little autumn. Cooler this past week though.

  14. I don't do fall until after the last long weekend. This is the part of the summer when the work is done and the relaxing can start! ~ Maureen

  15. I am with you all the way! Give me summer, endless summer! I want the beach and sun and flowers! I won't mind it getting cooler than 90-100 degrees, but I don't want cold weather! I need more summer!]Hugs, Leena

  16. Oh Shellagh, we in California most of the time end up with not enough rain and longer summers, we really won't feel the season change until November, and pumpkins don't do well in the heat. I tire of all the sun and long for a good week or just a long day of gloom. For some reason the colder months encourage creating out of me, it's a nesting time for me.

Thank you Shellagh for gracing your beauty over at my place leaving a comment that encourages what I do and create.

Keep inspiring us with your beautifully inspiring photos, I just love your first photo, it's so me :)

  17. i'm just the opposite; i LOVE fall and despise summer! summer looks pretty, but only from an air conditioned distance! of course, i understand if fall holds sad memories for you, that makes it different...that's too bad. maybe this will change a bit with time.
    take care!

  19. I'm hanging onto every bit of summer that I can! I love fall...but hate what follows! We wait all winter for warm weather here in Michigan...and then it's been too hot to really enjoy. Now that it's cooler...I want time to enjoy it!!!
