slipcover project

I am now in the middle of making slipcovers for a sofa, loveseat and wingback chair! I really wanted a soft, natural looking fabric, and it had to be either white or cream, so I went with linen in white. I love it so far! I'm 99% finished with the sofa, 75% finished with the loveseat, and haven't even started on the wingback chair. This time around I decided to try to make them w/ piping---I've been too intimidated in the past, but decided I needed to get some courage & give it a try! Guess what? It's not that bad!!!

  1. WOW!!! This is amazing! I wish I could make slipcovers like that. I dream of making them exactly like yours but the enormous size and amount of fabric intimidates me so much. I have a wingback chair that has been sitting in our bedroom for about 6 years that I want to slipcover but I have been WAY too afraid to try. Yours are amazing - how do you do that?? Beautiful job and wonderful talent my friend. Way to go!!

    Have a great day,

  2. Hi Shellagh! I found you on my follow list- thank you and so nice to meet you!
First... I am SO impressed with your slips! They are absolutely beautiful. I have a vintage Singer Featherweight, but I only do curtains and pillows (and w/o zippers as I never learned how to do those!) so I am envious of your talents!
Secondly, Dan & I used to live in Vancouver! It was our very first apartment- it looked out on a huge meadow and had a view of Mt.Hood! It is now all developed- think it was on 161st? Then our first home was in Eastmoreland in Portland! Love the beautiful NW! Do you go to Hippo Hardware? They always had great/hare-to-find things! And not too many weeks go by that Dan doesn't mention wanting a Stanich burger... ever been there?
Love the name of your blog and the colors/photos! It will be fun to watch your projects.
